Ruthless. I watched a great bird of beauty fly straight into a light pole.
I asked myself if I actually just saw that, no way is a powerful bird like that going to fly into a thick metallic object.
No, it was real. As I got closer to the pole on the freeway another bird swooped around the light pole and headed back to the nearby tree. I looked down next to the light pole and saw the bird, it looked like it was in anguish.
This was no crow or pigeon. These 2 birds we're much larger, which is what makes me curious as to why these birds were even around a freeway in the first place. Is it the whether?
I wonder what they think light poles are. To them.. it's just a funny looking tree, same with power poles.
An old man said to me "If I were to find the oldest, meatless bone I could, and throw it to a pack of starving dingos, what do you think they would do?"
They would obviously first try to eat the bone, once there was no meat to be found, obviously they would look for food elsewhere.
"They wouldn't sit around next to the same old bone, would they? Sit there and say this is bullshit, why is life so fucked? how dare you throw me this meatless bone!? how am I meant to eat? Survive? You expect me to live off this crap?"
That dingo would be fucking stupid.
He said be the dingo, find some new meat.
I asked what happens if there's no meat? there's nothing out there? it would be pointless! I would die or something else horrific could happen!
He said "Well, it's either you go and find out, or you sit there with that same bone and complain that it's no good. Ask yourself what you would do.
Change, some unlucky few of us have been taught it's wrong, it can only mean a worse outcome, for everyone involved trying to take control of their lives. I don't mean moving house every few years, taking a holiday instead of working, or changing the friends you have and the work you do. Changing the way you are, the way you react and behave to different situations. Some people may never have to do it and have a sense of being fulfilled.
First I wanted to reach outside into the stars and beyond, I needed to take everything from outside in.
Now I am learning that it's coming from the inside to the outside.
Happiness is simple, there's no need to constantly try to get somewhere, accomplish something, need or desire anything. The very moment you see yourself trying to go, you have already missed what's in front of you.
It's like this for every single angle, every single aspect of anything you do.
I learnt this when I realised that I was actually thinking without being conscious of it. When I drifted into what seemed to be a strange sedated state, I began to wonder the possibilities of fixing, doing, getting.
Without realising.
Right until he knocked me out of it, right until he showed me exactly what it means to not like so many parts of myself.
The crazy and insane part of even knowing you're like this in the first place? mean's incredible power to program you're life, in any way you want to.
We aren't taught that life can be exactly the way we want it to be, every small choice you ever make has an outcome which decides who you are, when you notice truly what you are, you can move the qualities around like building blocks. Construct, destroy, Re-construct, design, make it anything you wan't.
You won't hear you're true song until you have stopped looking for the bits and pieces that never existed.
It's a long way up from up here.
